OUR ENTERPRISE
Founded in 1999, Lobo & Associados Consultoria e Participação
S/C Ltda., was created to assemble experiences and administrators of national
significance, to promote the study of educational questions, and to offer
through consultancy and partnership the opportunity of working together
with other administrators and institutions that wish to develop integrated
projects specially devised to solve academic and administrative problems
linked to education, science and technology.
It
was the shortage in Brazil of formalised advisory bodies with knowledge
of both the academic and managerial sectors of higher education and with
the skills of business executives, supported by the know-how required
to set up quality institutional projects and acquainted with successful
models throughout the world, that motivated Dr Roberto Leal Lobo. A former
rector of the Universities of São Paulo and Mogi das Cruzes, former director
of the National Research Center, and one of the leading names in higher
education in Brazil, Dr Lobo decided to offer the staff of several renowned
Brazilian universities who share, besides professional competence, academic
and managerial experience in the private and public sectors of higher
education, in government agencies and in organizations for the fostering
of research, the possibility of coming together and participating in a
network with the best administrators of public and private Brazilian institutions,
as well as with advisers from the United States and Europe.
This innovative and independent enterprise, established to develop
a methodology tailor-made to respect the institutional mission, the peculiarities,
the legal and financial dimensions and limitations of each client, aims
to ensure the development of sectorial and global projects, simultaneously
or sequentially, of public and private institutions faced with managerial
or operational problems in need of a new framing or definition of market,
or even the reformulation of institutional goals and policies.
Lobo & Associados, led by the conviction that institutions must
be always on the frontiers of knowledge, capable of developing new concepts
and techniques, and that individual quality is fundamental in the acquisition
of global quality, has built units for the improvement, training and creation
of human resources, enabling administrators to overcome the challenges
of ever fiercer competition, new legal demands and the constant quest
for better procedures and results.
